Canada-Alberta Job Grant

The Canada-Alberta Job Grant is a training program where an employer applies on behalf of their present or future employees for eligible training costs. Employers decide who gets training and what type of training may be needed for their employees.
Eligible employers are required to contribute a minimum of one-third of the total training costs for existing employees. Government contributes two-thirds of the cost to a maximum of $10,000 per trainee per fiscal year. If hiring and training an unemployed Albertan, up to 100% of training costs could be covered, up to $15,000 per trainee.
Apprenticeship Incentive Grant for Women

Apprentices whose first year (level/block) or second year (level/block) progression date occurs after the AIG-W pilot project ends on March 31, 2023 may be eligible for the Apprenticeship Incentive Grant (AIG).
Project funding for organizations providing supports to women wishing to pursue a career in the skilled trades will be available under the Canadian Apprenticeship Strategy.
The Apprenticeship Incentive Grant for Women (AIG-W) helps you pay for expenses while you train as an apprentice in a Designated Red Seal Trade where women are underrepresented.
Apprenticeship Completion Grant

It is for registered apprentices who successfully complete their apprenticeship training program, and get their journeyperson certification in a designated Red Seal trade
Apprenticeship Incentive Grant

- The AIG is a taxable grant worth $1,000 per level, awarded to registered apprentices
- You must complete your first year/level (or equivalent) to apply for the AIG
- You can apply for this grant twice during your training (for a maximum of $2,000)
- You can apply for your second AIG after completing your second year/level (or equivalent) of training
Compensation for Employers of Reservists Program
Employers of Reservists and self-employed Reservists may be eligible for funding under the Compensation for Employers of Reservists Program (CERP). The purpose of the CERP is to:
- Provide financial support to civilian employers of Reservists and/or self-employed Reservists, to offset operational costs they incur when Reservist employees deploy on full-time operational duty (Chief of Defence Staff directed operation), both domestically and abroad.
- Enable Reservists to be more fully integrated alongside the Canadian Armed Forces Regular Force.
- Enable a better understanding of the role of Reservists in the military, their places of employment and in their communities.
Service Canada (SC) is administering this program on behalf of the Department of National Defence (DND).

Workforce Partnerships Grant

Workforce Partnership grants provide funding to organizations such as employers, industry and sector associations, regional organizations and Indigenous organizations to support labour market adjustment strategies and workforce development, including initiatives to attract and retain workers through partnerships.
Effective partnerships can improve the capacity of organizations to deal with workforce demands, implement labour force adjustments, address workforce issues and support economic growth on a regional and/or provincial level.
The Government of Alberta is working in partnership with the Government of Canada to provide employment support programs and services.
