New Futures is a career transition program that provides career development workshops to unemployed and underemployed Albertans living in small towns and rural Alberta. Academic Express partners with Community Adult Learning Centres to deliver training using a multi-site, distant delivery format. Training includes one week of workshops followed by a second week of one-on-one customized assistance, as per student need.

Central Alberta Rural Employment Services (CARES) - This FREE program is offered in a one-to-one individualized, personal approach. Employment services focus on supporting individuals to build employment readiness skills, receive job search support, access funding for short-term courses e.g.: safety tickets, complete job placements and receive job maintenance support.
Transition to Employment Services (TES) - This FREE program is available in rural Central Alberta communities of Rocky Mountain House, Drayton Valley, Rimbey and Ponoka. Transition to Employment Services offer a comprehensive and individualized service that will enable job seekers to acquire the skills needed to re-enter the workforce as quickly as possible. Services include employment preparation support, workshops, individualized coaching, job placement, job matching and unpaid work exposure options

Workplace Training (WT) - This program provides individuals looking to transition into a new career with a job placement where you get paid a wage while you learn with an employer for up to 26 weeks. Includes one-on-one support during job placement and funding for short-term courses.
Central Alberta Rural Employment Services (CARES) - This program provides individuals seeking support with a job placemenet where you get paid a qhile while you learn with an employer for up to 12 weeks. Includes one-on-one support during job placement and funding for short-term courses.

SkillTech Program - The program enables unemployed Albertans to acquire essential and occupation-related emerging tech skills required in the local labour market, better enabling them to find and maintain employment. Training may include an introduction to Data Analytics, Data Analytics for HR or Sales Professionals, Digital Marketing and Social Media and an Intro to Web Development. Program components include employability skills, occupational skills training specific to Technology and Business, employment placement supports and unpaid work exposure.
Energy Job Shop
A North American job platform focused on skilled trades, energy, and industrial careers based out of Alberta, Canada. Originally launched as a small online community helping trades workers find work, it has grown into a large employment resource used by millions of job seekers across Canada. The platform publishes thousands of job opportunities and provides career resources for individuals exploring apprenticeship pathways, technical training, and energy related careers. Energy Job Shop receives over 20 million visits annually and has more than 400,000 registered skilled trades workers. In addition to job listings, the platform provides workforce insights, training resources (like EJS-U), and initiatives such as the annual Energy Job Shop Skilled Trades Scholarship to support people entering high demand trades and technical occupations.
